How to Close or Merge with another Nonprofit

While strategic partnerships and mergers can give some nonprofits an opportunity to survive. Closing a nonprofit will be the most difficult decision a Board of Directors will ever make. Being able to see and react to the signs of a failing nonprofit and taking action to either correct the course or protect donor investments require crucial conversations and difficult decisions. Closing a nonprofit correctly and legally takes time. Board members have an obligation to protect community assets.
