Jackson County DHHS, and Nonprofit Network invite you to attend this FREE online public training for community members This training is beneficial for anyone, as it helps individuals understand and address the impact of adverse experiences in mental, physical, and emotional health. This trauma informed training promotes a broad persepctive on behavior and strategies for creating a supportive environment. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood. ACEs can include violence, abuse, and growing up in a family with mental health or substance use problems. Toxic stress from ACEs can change brain development and affect how the body responds to stress not only in children but as adults. ACEs are linked to chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance misuse in adulthood. However, ACEs can be prevented... Preventing ACEs can help children and adults thrive.
