With a diversity of experience, expertise, and perspectives, a nonprofit is in a stronger position to plan for the future, manage risk, make prudent decisions, and take full advantage of opportunities. But diversity doesn’t work without inclusion strategies and practices.
Just recruiting and hiring won’t allow you to truly take advantage of the power of a diverse workplace.

A diverse and inclusive workplace has increased creativity – a variety of different people from various backgrounds working together that will get you better solutions to problems. Diversity encourages personal growth – employees are encouraged to learn new ideas, perspective, and connect intellectually and personally to different people. And, employees who have different worldviews can think more independently. If you have similar people at an organization, it can be harder to solve complex problems.

  Presented in partnership with TRUE Community Credit Union - this workshop will be divided into three sections:



  • Hiring and Human Resource Systems
  • Program Design Systems
  • Board and Governance
Deliverables: Participants will leave with the following:
  • How to build a personal and professional culture that respects diversity, inclusion and equity
  • An understanding about how inequities show up in organizational systems and how to address root causes
  • An understanding of how your role can address DEI within the organization
  • The constructs and implications of personal and professional bias
  • Strategies to move forward in a personal and professional journey (ways to get unstuck)


In-person Schedule:  Morning Session - 9 AM until Noon
Lunch included - Noon to 12:45 *Qdoba buffet provided for lunch (includes chicken, rice, and vegetables)
Afternoon Session - 12:45 PM until 3:00 PM
